As per a recent report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp recently submitted a new update (v.2.20.13) through the Google Play Beta Program which includes a new dark theme. If you're on the beta channel, you can enable the new dark theme by jumping into the app settings, tapping on chats, and then selecting the Dark option within the Theme section.

If you're a WhatsApp beta tester, you can get the latest beta update from the Play Store right away and enjoy the new dark theme.
